Salman Khan and singer Sonu Nigam showed up for the aarti and visited the Ganpati idol in Lalbaug, the largest Ganesha idol in Mumbai. It was a hectic day with crowded streets and traffic galore and over six-lakh devotees waiting for their turn to praise the idol. Later in the evening, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty along with their parents also came to pray to Ganesha as well. Here are some photos.

Shilpa Shetty was on fire as she walked the ramp in designer Tarun Tahiliani’s creation at the Wills India Fashion Week at New Delhi.

Shilpa Shetty isn’t playing with petty figures, she wants all or nothing. Shilpa was set to be in the upcoming British comedy, ‘Quick, Slip Me A Bride’ but at the last second was taken out of the cast. Shilpa wasn’t playing around though, she wanted 350,000 pounds to do the movie. Here’s what the producer of the film, Renu Patel, had to say:

Shilpa agreed to do the film with us. Now, we have been forced to go ahead without her because she wanted 350, 000 pounds and insisted half of this had to be paid before she even shot any scene.

Shilpa’s spokesperson said that this was not the case. Her spokesperson claims that the reason Shilpa won’t be in the movie was not because of the lower amount of pay, but because the movie was to be shot this year and she will be beginning her musical next month in Germany and that would be followed in the UK, US, and Australia taking up more time than she could commit to the movie.

Bling Entertainment Solutions, India’s hottest talent management company, announced its official launch as a corporation at the JW Marriott with Atul Kasbekar, as its Chairman, in partnership with Mahesh Shirodkar, Piya Sawhney, Shanti Sivaram and Pooja Dadlani.

The launch was a star studded event with celebrities such as Sushmita Sen, Shilpa Shetty, Karan Johar, Rahul Bose, Deepika Padukone, Mandira Bedi, Riya and Raima Sen, Shekhar Suman, Preeti Jhangiani, and Ken Ghosh all in attendance. Kim Sharma and Dino Morea were also there and seemed to be very into each other, if you know what i mean.

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty received the 10th annual Rajiv Gandhi Award in the best actors’ category. Union Energy minister Sushil Kumar Shinde conferred the honor on them. Viveik Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Tanushree Dutta, Isha Sharvani, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Koena Mitra, looking strangely like a man, were among those who regaled the audiences with their performances. Suresh Oberoi, Anupam Kher, and Kapil Dev was also present and gave away awards at the ceremony.

Shilpa Shetty will soon be given an honorary doctorate by the Leeds Metropolitan University of the UK in recognition for her commitment in expanding cultural boundaries. She will be attending a seminar at the university and the university authorities are expected to honor her with prestigious degree during this time. Shilpa received a letter from Leeds Metropolitan University immediately after her visit to Yorkshire. The letter states that the university wants to award Shilpa and honorary doctorate for her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.

Shilpa isn’t the first to receive this recognition among these famous celebs include: Shehanshah, Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Yash Chopra. Shilpa is shining brighter than ever; every day we seem to hear more and more about her climbing farther and farther up.

Shilpa’s success isn’t coming down anytime soon. She was approached by the James Bond filming crew to be the next Bond girl. She visited them in Paris to talk business over. Here’s what her spokesperson, Dale Bhagwagar said:

Shilpa is in Paris at the moment and if she has been offered the role then she should take it as she is fond of action packed roles and would be India’s answer to Lara Croft.

The Apne Premiere held  at Cinema, Versova on Thursday evening was a star-studded event. It was filled with many of the big names of Bollywood. Apne is Anil Sharma’s latest release. Among those on hand included: Shamita Shetty, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol,  Bobby Deol, Kangana Ranaut, Kareena Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, and Twinkle Khanna.

Mike Tyson has joined in on the Shilpa bandwagon. Just like everyone, he has been enchanted by her persona and demeanor and really wants to act in a movie along side her. This is what he had to say concerning her:

Its her beauty and the way she carries herself that has made me think of her as the ideal co-star. There is something about her that can make anyone go weak in the knees.

 Tyson who recently shot a promotional video for Fool and Final might never get his chance to act alongside Shilpa, either way it is clear that Shilpa’s fame is not on the decline even after the Richard Gere kiss.

Shilpa Shetty was outraged with the Immigration authorities at the Mumbai international airport, because they would not allow Shilpa to leave on her flight for Turkey. This incident all stems from the infamous Richard Gere kiss. They only let her leave after seeing the papers the Supreme Court gave permission. Here’s what Shilpa had to say:

It was bizarre. It would have been perfectly understandable to see the immigration officers doing their jobs well and I’d be the last person to come in the way of authorities doing their duties. But we patiently showed the clearance papers while leaving. And still we were questioned when I returned.

What upset Shilpa the most was that she was treated like a criminal in her own country but while in the UK she was treated like she was apart of the royal family.
