Bollywood’s hottest choreographer Farah Khan’s directorial debut in ‘Main Hoon Na’ was a huge success. Everyone has since there been speculating on what she would do with her next movie. The title was announced a couple of months ago to be ‘Om Shanti Om’ and Shah Rukh Khan confirmed as the lead actor. Model turned actress, Deepika Padukone, and Ritesh Deshmukh have since had their names attached to the production as well.
Now, after months of waiting, the trailer has finally been released.
‘Heyy Babyy’, this summer’s most anticipated release, hits theatres tomorrow. The movie already has a stellar star cast (Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, and Vidya Balan), and on top of that rumours of King Khan himself making an appearance have proved to be correct. Om Books International in association with Radio Mirchi celebrated the success of national award winning author Anupama Chopra’s book ‘King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan’ yesterday at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai.
Present at the event, along with Shah Rukh Khan and Anupama Chopra, were Gauri Khan, Jackie Shroff, Jimmy Shergill, Aadesh Shrivastava, Anu Malik, Karan Johar, Riya Sen, Juhi Chawla, Rajkumar Hirani, Tanuja Chandra, Dia Mirza, John Abraham, Subhash Ghai and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham appeared to have swapped hairstyles at the event at which Pepsi’s new and stylish packaging innovation, ‘My Can’, was unveiled. Punita Lal, executive marketing director of Pepsi Foods in India, was also present at the event. The three of them posed with the new cans in hand.
At the same event, two new commercials for the product were also revealed to the media. The ads show a boy approaching SRK and John Abraham with a tissue. As the actors move forward, having presumed that he wants their autograph, the boy reaches past them for a can of Pepsi saying, ‘Excuse me, Uncle.’
Bollywood’s beloved, Sanjay Dutt, has been sentenced to 6 years of jail time for posession of an AK-56 rifle, hand grenades and a 9 mm pistol. Some of you might recall that this is Dutt’s second brush with the law, the first one being when he spent 16 months in prison back in 1992 due to alleged connection with some terrorist bombings.
His friends and collegues are outraged at this and many of them (including Shah Rukh Khan) are publicly speaking out against the action being taken against Sanju. Bollywood is in no mood to party and the much awaited premiers of B.R. Chopra’s colourized classic ‘Naya Daur’ and Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Cash’, both released this weekend, were promptly cancelled out of respect for the fallen star.
Shahrukh Khan was on hand to unveil the new look of Compaq at a media event in Mumbai yesterday. ‘Kal Tumhara Hai’ is the title of Compaq’s new campaign with Shahrukh Khan as brand ambassador. He will be in TV commercials and as well as magazine ads promoting for the company. The venue for the event was at the Taj Lands End, in Bandra yesterday afternoon.
Johnny Depp is confirmed to dance in a song in Mira Nair’s upcoming film Shantaram. The song will be composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Mira Nair has requested Vishal Bhardwaj to make four tracks with Sufi touch and one Bollywood masala song. A source close to the crew of the film said,
Most of the shooting is likely to take place in the studio and very little of it may happen at actual locations. Depp, it is learnt, may arrive in India after Christmas for the shooting of the film. Mira Nair has asked Amitabh Bachchan who plays a pivotal role in the film to block his dates for the film at that time.
The film is aboutan Australian bank robber and a heroine addict who escape from Pentridge Prison and come to India to live in the Dharavi area of Mumbai. Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to play very important roles in the film.
Shah Rukh Khan’s soon to be released film, Chak De India, the movie which has Shah Rukh as the head coach of India’s women’s hockey team, is now under major scrutiny. The Women Hockey Association of India has threatened to take serious action if the Yash Raj film portrays the players and association in demeaning way. The association has demanded a screening of the movie, so they may decide if there is anything that must be edited before the release. President of the Women’s Hockey Association of India Vidya Stoke stated:
We want to see the film before its release. Couple of years ago, when the movie was in the planning stage, Yash Chopra sought help from us. We were more than happy to help them thinking that it would create awareness about the sport in the country. They took a lot of inputs from us and it has helped them big time in making the movie. It’s only fair that we get to see it before the release.

Thousands were on hand just to catch a glimpse of the beloved Shah Rukh Khan at the 4th Asian Lifestyle Show in Olympia, London. Carving Dreams Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. put together Shah Rukh Khan’s 3 day weekend. There were over 25,000 visitors. Shah Rukh interacted with fans and media and recited many of his famous dialogues from movies such as: Don, Devdas, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge.
Shah Rukh Khan was the brand ambassador and main guest for the liquor brand Masterstroke’s sponsored concert that took place last weekend. It was located in Mumbai at the MMRDA grounds. The Bombay Vikings and Indian Idol finalist Prajakta Shukre performed. The show started with a huge bang as Amrita Arora’s performance was a hit. It’s kind of odd to see Shah Rukh really trying to milk his fame for money but he claimed this as his reasoning for working with Masterstroke:
