After being sentenced to six years in prison on July 31st for possession of arms (Salman Khan killed a dude and got nothing!), Sanjay Dutt has been released on bail on the ground that the Mumbai court that convicted him has not yet provided him with a copy of his sentence.

However, the star will have to return behind bars once that technicality has been fulfilled.

Le Sigh.

Hopefully Sanju’s lawyers can work something out in the meantime; we want him out and about ASAP so that he can start shooting for Munna Bhai Chale America!

The cast of ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’ gathered together for a video shoot. The movie is an offering from producers Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta (who have previously collaborated on films such as ‘Kaante’ and ‘Musaafir’) and is a conglomerate of ten short films, each directed by a different film maker. This concept was previously tried and tested by Ram Gopal Verma in ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ and it failed miserably. Let’s hope that’s not the case for ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’, for the sake of our beloved Sanjay Dutt alone.

Bollywood’s beloved, Sanjay Dutt, has been sentenced to 6 years of jail time for posession of an AK-56 rifle, hand grenades and a 9 mm pistol. Some of you might recall that this is Dutt’s second brush with the law, the first one being when he spent 16 months in prison back in 1992 due to alleged connection with some terrorist bombings.

His friends and collegues are outraged at this and many of them (including Shah Rukh Khan) are publicly speaking out against the action being taken against Sanju. Bollywood is in no mood to party and the much awaited premiers of B.R. Chopra’s colourized classic ‘Naya Daur’ and Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Cash’, both released this weekend, were promptly cancelled out of respect for the fallen star.

White Feather Films along with Kingfisher and Formula 1 Grand Prix hosted a party for Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming film Alibaug. First to arrive to the event was Sanjay Dutt along with the main man himself, Sanjay Gupta. The film’s cast and crew was present at the event. Those present included: Sanjay Dutt, Sanjay Gupta, Dia Mirza, Bikram Saluja, Sanjay Suri, V.J. Sophie, Rohit Roy, Mansi Roy, Sudhanshu Pandey, and V.J. Yudi.

The premiere of Shootout at Lokhandwala took place Thursday night in Mumbai. Everyone who worked on the movie was on site and many of their celebrity friends as well. The movie which was shrouded in controversy over Sanjay Gupta being sued will surely hit, especially with a star studded premiere such as this. Here’s everyone who was on hand:

There were thousands on hand to see the unveiling of the House of Horrors walk-through amusement park in Mumbai. Sanjay Dutt was the honoree to cut the red ribbon and was joined by a few other TV star celebs and friends. Here are some pictures from the evening:

The Star Gold Comedy Honors of 2007 had their big grand finale on a few days ago. It was a star-studded event filled with the faces of Bollywood celebs. Some of the winners included Govinda, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, and Juhi Chawla was honoured with the Special Recognition in Comic Excellence. Here are some pictures from that night:

Many Bollywood stars were on hand for this year’s Femina Miss India 2007. The atmospehere was alive and exciting as Sarah Jane Dias won the Miss India Title. The runners up were: Puja Gupta and Pooja Chitgopekar. Here are some of the star filled pictures from the night:

Sanjay Dutt is donating his winnings from his guest appearance on KBC3 to NGO help group ‘Support’. The organization helps rehabilitate drug addicted youth. Sanjay is very supportive and active in the organization. He often helps members through visits and counseling. Sanjay can relate because of his addiction to drugs and alcohol throughout his life. While we applaud his generosity, we wonder if Sanjay is still high?? (see recent picture above)
