Salman Khan received the honor of being the fourth Indian actor to be featured at the Madame Tussuad’s wax museum in London. Salman did what no one expected by turning the prestigious offer having a wax replica of him displayed at the gallery down. Before Salman, only Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, among all other Bollywood stars, have gotten this honor. Salman who is currently shooting in Austria for Subhash Ghai’s forthcoming film Yuvraj was not available for comment. However his business manager, Vikas Kapoor, has confirmed the news saying,

Yes, Salman has refused the Madame Tussuads offer. He does not want his wax statue to be displayed at the Madame Tussauds as he is not interested in it. Though it is considered as a big honor for people who are selected for Madame Tussuads, Salman considers his fan following as his biggest honor.

Perhaps Salman is taking a page out of Amir Khan’s book of being difficult and fickle.

Salman Khan and singer Sonu Nigam showed up for the aarti and visited the Ganpati idol in Lalbaug, the largest Ganesha idol in Mumbai. It was a hectic day with crowded streets and traffic galore and over six-lakh devotees waiting for their turn to praise the idol. Later in the evening, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty along with their parents also came to pray to Ganesha as well. Here are some photos.

Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan will be starring togetherfor Ketan Desai’s yet–to-be titled film. It will be made under Ketan’s father, Manmohan Desai’s banner. The film will also mark the return of Ketan Desai as a director. There’s a lot of speculation on how things will go with Aishwarya and Salman’s past still humming in everyone’s ears. Here’s what a close friend to Salman had to say,

Salman and Ketan have been friends for a long time and have also worked together earlier in ‘ Yeh Hai Jalwa’ which Ketan had produced and David Dhawan directed. They have wanted to work together for a long time. So, when Ketan approached Salman, the latter immediately agreed to do the film, no questions asked. When Ketan told him that the film would also mark his return as director after a long gap, Salman was more than thrilled to be part of the film.

It looks as though Salman will do anything for an old friend. This will be an interesting spectacle to see unfold. It just so happens that the two also have another possible movie in the works, God Tussi Great Ho. Who knows Salman and Amitabh may just happen to get all buddy buddy after this experience.

What is with these bollywood stars and their rifts with the law lately? Seriously.

Salman Khan was charged with the poaching of endangered birds in Jodhpur nine years ago. It took the Jodhpur government nine years to finally get him to surrender.

Oh and he was released in about a week.

After being sentenced to six years in prison on July 31st for possession of arms (Salman Khan killed a dude and got nothing!), Sanjay Dutt has been released on bail on the ground that the Mumbai court that convicted him has not yet provided him with a copy of his sentence.

However, the star will have to return behind bars once that technicality has been fulfilled.

Hopefully Sanju’s lawyers can work something out in the meantime; we want him out and about ASAP so that he can start shooting for Munna Bhai Chale America!

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty received the 10th annual Rajiv Gandhi Award in the best actors’ category. Union Energy minister Sushil Kumar Shinde conferred the honor on them. Viveik Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Tanushree Dutta, Isha Sharvani, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Koena Mitra, looking strangely like a man, were among those who regaled the audiences with their performances. Suresh Oberoi, Anupam Kher, and Kapil Dev was also present and gave away awards at the ceremony.

Govida has become hot propertly one again with the success of his most recent film Partner, which also stars Salman Khan. He was invited as a guest judge on the popular show, Amul Star Voice Of India. Some may think that it’s an odd choice to have invited him as guest judge, but it’s a little known fact that Govinda has had many years of classical training in music. Govinda was his usual, jovial self on the show and he charmed all the judges as well as the contestants and audience with his singing and dancing.

Salman Khan is trying to take his life in a different direction. He wants to change his flashy lifestyle and follow his life more like southern star, Rajnikanth, who has dedicated his life and earnings back to the community. Salman is going to donate his earnings to the Salman Khan Foundation mainly through, live shows and paintings. Salman is tired of depending on someone else to support the charitable causes and his taken it into his own hands. Here’s what the new Salman had to say:

I want to do what Rajnikanth is doing. Whatever he earns, he is giving back to the people. I want to raise funds for the charitable causes through my movies, my shows, my paintings; it’s basically going to be through my money. If anybody volunteers, I will accept donations, but I certainly am not going looking out for funds.

This is in the midst of Salman’s new Hollywood movie, Marigold. Even with Salman’s first Hollywood movie right around the bend, he is keeping his head level and learning to stay humble. Kudos, Salman. Here are some pics from the Marigold music release:

Salman Khan watched a special screening of David Dhawan’s film Partner with the underprivileged kids of Mumbai at the local Cinemax. Katrina Kaif, David Dhawan, Lara Dutta, and Rajpal Yadav also attended the show. A special appearance from Hollywood actress Sienna Miller also excited everyone on site. Sienna, who had just finished working on a Marigold with Salman Khan, was seen as always promoting an awareness for Globalcool, an aid helping to slow down global warming.

The Samsonite branch-off, American Tourister in association with the NGO Aseema, helped create a charity benefitting the children who live in the streets. The event took place at the Zenzi, Bandra, in Mumbai on Monday evening. Among those present included: Alvira Agnihotri with daughter, Matan Schabracq, Sanea Sheikh, Gauri Pradhan, Gauri Tonk, Riva Bubber, Nethra Raghuraman, Dilbar of Aseema, Carol Gracias, Reshma Bombaywala, Achala Sachdev, Rahul Roy, Poonam Soni, Suvedh Lohia, Niketan Madhok, Nina Manuel, Amit Sareen, Ritu Chaudhary, Pooja Ghai Rawal, Vikas Kalantri, Amit Gaur, Shruti Agarwal, and Ken Ghosh.
