The newly wed couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai were seen publically together at the 60th Cannes Film Festival hosted on the French Riviera. Here are some more pictures of the couple and one of Liz Hurley, present without the company of her husband:

All is not is good in the home front between Elizabeth Hurley and her in-laws. It all started with Vinod and his wife Joanne being upset with how they were treated at the wedding ceremony. Vinod was not allowed to come to the wedding platform during the Hindu fire ceremony — also he was insulted that Hurley didn’t wear a 35,000-pound ruby and diamond necklace that he and his wife had given to her to wear at the wedding. Here’s what Vinod had to say:

I think this elaborate Indian event was Elizabeth’s theatrical dream. It was certainly not a serious attempt to honor our customs. In the end it was just nonsense. The magazine wanted a great show, so they could justify the big fee they were charged. I think it was blatant and cynical commercialism. I once thought Liz was a lovely, unspoiled woman, but now I see that she is a very hard person. It was important for her to get celebrity faces there. That’s what the Hello! deal was about. She was fulfilling her contractual obligation.

An inside source for Hurley said that:

Liz was furious and went absolutely ballistic when she found out what Arun’s family had been saying about her. She feels that what was the happiest day of her life has been tarnished and doesn’t understand how after everything she has done for them raising their social standing in India through the roof, for example - they could do this.

Apparently both parties have decided to cut ties. This is trouble — we will keep you informed on any updates between the parties.

The couple first had an extravagent wedding in England and then moved the party on to India. They started out in Mumbai where they attempted to extend a party tent onto public space at Juhu Beach. Mumbai officials tore down the tent. That would not be the last problem the wedding celebrations would face:

Outside Mehrangarh fort, in Jodhpur, reporters blocked the couple’s car as they attempted to enter. Security guards attempted to hold back reporters and supposedly one guard slapped a female reporter and another guard pushed a female reporter. And then all hell broke loose. Yes, the above picture of Elizabeth is a few years old now, but the girl is still pretty good looking. And, Arun Nayer is butt ugly. So, what made Elizabeth fall for Arun? The photo below is our guess.

Anyway, the two were suppose to get married Saturday March 3rd in England. Apparently, they instead had a secret ceremony a day early followed by a large ceremony Saturday in a medieval castle. The couple will shortly travel to India for a traditional Hindu wedding. Read about it here
