Malaika Arora unveiled a coffee table book on Italy at the Taj Hotel in Colaba Mumbai this past Wednesday afternoon. She was accompanied with dignitaries from Italy joining her to release the book.

Femina, women’s largest English magazine in India launched a special issue on India’s 50 most beautiful women. The different covers feature Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra. The launch was held at the Grand Hyatt, Santacruz Mumbai, last Wednesday evening, here are some of the photos taken:

Filmfare’s latest issue has a very interesting cover this month. The latest issue has India’s top directors posing for the cover, including Karan Johar, Rakeysh Mehra, Farhan Akhtar, Rajkumar Hirani and others. Karan Johar, Rakeysh Mehra, Farhan Akhtar graced the occasion and launched the issue with editor Jitesh Pillai  at the Inter Continental in Adheri Mumbai Monday night.

^^This is probably as close as Karan Johar will ever get to a woman.

The popular skin care company Olay and Vogue the prestigious fashion hosted an Exclusive Brunch at the royal Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur. It was an event unleashing the new Olay Total Effects product. The Olay-Vogue brunch was attended by any of Bollywood’s top stars some including Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Karan Johar, Shobhaa De, Arjun Rampal, Gauri Khan, Rahul Khanna, Yash and Avanti Birla, Queenie Dhody, designer Anita Dongre, and celebrity stylist Dilshad Pastakia.

Abhishek Bachchan is the new brand ambassador for Arvind Brands’ denim company, Flying Machine, the first Indian jeans brand. Abhishek unveiled the autumn collection at a press conference and commented that,

Flying Machine reflects the pride of India and is a phenomenal example of India’s potential at present day. Their designs, quality and value are top notch and that this is done by an Indian Brand is remarkable.

The company’s designer is the young Italian, Chicco, who has been a designer for many internationally successful denim brands and is now working for Flying Machine. The even took place at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, Wednesday night.

Salman Khan and singer Sonu Nigam showed up for the aarti and visited the Ganpati idol in Lalbaug, the largest Ganesha idol in Mumbai. It was a hectic day with crowded streets and traffic galore and over six-lakh devotees waiting for their turn to praise the idol. Later in the evening, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty along with their parents also came to pray to Ganesha as well. Here are some photos.

Percept Pictures organized a special screening of Priyadarshan’s Dhol for the film cast and crew at the Cinemax in Bandra. Many celebs were on hand, which included the likes of: Tushar, Sharman, Rajpal Yadav Neetu Chandra and Payal Rohatgi to watch the premiere. Here are some of the photos from the evening.

Lara Dutta and MTV in association with the US Consulate, joined hands to cause awareness for the fight against human trafficking. At a function held at the Taj Land’s End in Bandra, Mumbai, MTV ran a half an hour special documentary on the evils of human trafficking. MTV VJ Nikhil Chinnappa along with Lara, hosted the event which was held this past Tuesday evening.

We wonder what might have caused such a big distraction for Ayesha Takia, who almost got herself into a fatal accident late last week. Perhaps it was two big distractions. 

Ayesha and Akshay Kumar were shooting a scene for Percept Picture Company’s film Tasveer in Calgary, Canada. Ayesha was engaged in conversation and wasn’t focused on the road as Akshay had to grab the steering wheel and swerve out the way to avoid a twenty-five foot deep pit. Akshay Kumar is a hero in film and real life. Ayesha owes a lot to his quick reaction and awareness, since they both could’ve have been seriously, if not fatally injured. We’re glad to hear everything’s okay and that film resumed as normal.
