Everyone, including us, were fooled by the story published by a Mumbai tabloid telling lies about a split between Akshay and his wife Twinkle. Akshay is furious with the slander and had this to say:

The article is a clear representation of careless and irresponsible journalism. The freedom of press comes with responsibilities, which seems to have been put aside to give way to shock value journalism. We have never reacted to what is written about us because we are happy in our own little world and have never felt the need to prove anything to anyone. But people are taking advantage of our silence to slander us and write things without an iota of truth, which we shall not accept anymore. Furthermore this has been done with a clear mandate to tarnish and damage our image. We are aware that we are public figures and accept and understand that we would be in constant public glare, but we definitely have an objection to baseless and incorrect stories based on a figment of imagination.

 A worn out Akshay is planning to sue the tabloid. He doesn’t want his family to suffer any longer and is thinking in the best interest of his family and loved ones.

Ram Gopal Varma can really pull of amazing feats. After having the Bachchan crew once in his film, he will do it again. Before even completing the sequel to his film Sarkar, he is in the works of creating a new movie with the Bachchan camp. A source close to the director tipped us off:

Ramu has planned to rope in Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya for Time Machine. The director took the decision of reviving the film during the outdoor shoot of his film Sarkar Raj which is currently in progress in Hyderabad.

Ram must be a pleasure working with, usually Amitabh likes to switch things up, but he has stayed loyal to Ram and the pair are helping each other create amazing blockbusters. We can’t wait to hear more news on the film.

After the success of the Shootout At Lokhandwala, Sanjay Gupta and Ekta Kapoor have decided to make another film based on a real-life incident titled, Shootout At Parliament. The movie will be about the events that took place on December 13, 2001 when terrorists attacked the Parliament of India. The film will have the same cast as Lokhandwala and is in the mix of being organized. When asked about the movie Sanjay Gupta had this to say:

It is too early to comment on this film.

Guess we can’t milk anything out of him yet, his lips are sealed, but be prepared here comes another blockbuster via Sanjay Gupta!

Akshay Kumar and wife of six years Twinkle have called it quits.  Twinkle gave Akshay an ultimatum to either clean up his act or the marriage would be over. Apparently that didn’t work out. Twinkle is upset because of the rumors spreading that Akshay has been getting cozy with a certain Bengali actress. A source close to the former couple had this to say:

Twinkle got to know about this affair and was extremely upset about whatever was going on. She warned Akshay a couple of times, but he didn’t pay heed. She finally decided she had had enough.

Akshay who has been in any many flings with different actresses including, Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Pooja Batra and Priyanka Chopra, better learn from this huge mistake. He’s throwing away a life they had been making since 2001. Cheaters never learn and they never quit.

MTV has gone through major changes in order to prepare for the ’My Generation’ label and everything now has a new look. There are now 5 new shows, 1 new reality show, a new international VJ named Mia, complete remodeling of www.mtvindia.com, and the launch of MTV’s Digital Music Store. MTV also has Neeta Lulla designing the new look of the VJs. Those on location for the media event included: Neeta Lulla, Anusha Dandekar, Ranvijay, MTV VJs Nikhil Chinnappa, Cyrus Broacha, Cyrus Sahukar.

Shahrukh Khan was on hand to unveil the new look of Compaq at a media event in Mumbai yesterday. ‘Kal Tumhara Hai’ is the title of Compaq’s new campaign with Shahrukh Khan as brand ambassador. He will be in TV commercials and as well as magazine ads promoting for the company. The venue for the event was at the Taj Lands End, in Bandra yesterday afternoon.

The room was in calamity as soon as Amitabh showed up to present the new August issue of Filmware, which has him on the cover. Amitabh spent a lot of time taking pictures and signing autographs at The Orchid Ecotel in Mumbai, Monday night. The funny thing is that the only photographs of him are from web photographers, since mainstream photographers are still refusing to give him any limelight, because they are still bitter about not being able to shoot the Abhi/Ash wedding. We don’t think Amitabh is too concerned, if anything, he is probably laughing at them, knowing that they will have to give in sooner or later.

Bipasha Basu, who endorses Clinic All Clear shampoo with beau John Abraham, has been replaced by another model in the commercial because of the diificulties in her and John’s relationship — No one really knows what’s going on with them. Hindustan Lever was very aware of the problems the couple is experiencing and decided to shoot commercials of each celeb seperately. Bipasha shot hers alone, while John had other models help him out in his. A source had this to say:

Hindustan Lever did not want to portray forced chemistry between John Abraham and Bipasha Basu on screen. However hard they may try to appear in love, their chemistry will look phony and the public knows this relationship is over. Keeping all this in mind, Hindustan Lever did not want them to shoot together. They are a very image conscious company and signed John and Bips because they were a celebrity couple. 

It has also been said that Bipasha has been talking to John on the phone more and more — this is a big change from just ignoring his calls. There might be possible reconciling in their future. We’ll have to wait and see.

Johnny Depp is confirmed to dance in a song in Mira Nair’s upcoming film Shantaram. The song will be composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Mira Nair has requested Vishal Bhardwaj to make four tracks with Sufi touch and one Bollywood masala song. A source close to the crew of the film said,

Most of the shooting is likely to take place in the studio and very little of it may happen at actual locations. Depp, it is learnt, may arrive in India after Christmas for the shooting of the film. Mira Nair has asked Amitabh Bachchan who plays a pivotal role in the film to block his dates for the film at that time.

The film is aboutan Australian bank robber and a heroine addict who escape from Pentridge Prison and come to India to live in the Dharavi area of Mumbai. Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to play very important roles in the film.

The first anniversary of filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International was celebrated last week. There was a special performance by the great drummer and percussionist Shivamani. Many celebs including Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff made their entrance to the event. Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff played the lead characters Ram Lakhan in Subhash Ghai’s movie Ram Lakhan.
