Not Enough Money For Ayesha
Jun 28th, 2007 by bollywood boogie

Ayesha Takia had been signed by Sujoy Ghosh to play the part of princess Jasmine in Alladin and The Mystery of the Lamp, has decided that the money was not enough to keep her interest. Producers, Ramesh Sippy and Rohan Sippy, could not deliver the original amount they promised to pay, leaving Takia to abandon the project. Here’s what sources said:
When Ayesha Takia had signed the film, the Sippys were in charge and she was being paid her asking price. But with them backing out of the project, Sujoy’s budget was drastically cut and he could not offer Ayesha the fee she was demanding. While she was debating, she was offered Boney Kapoor’s remake of Pokhiri and she decided to pass up on Sujoy’s offer.
There must be a little more to this story than what meets the eye. Ayesha wasn’t happy about the money, sure, but there must have been something else that turned her off to the role. Money is important but a good role is more important that any dollar.
