In a decision of pure stupidity that will make India look backwards in the eyes of the world an Indian court ordered the arrest of Hollywood star Richard Gere on Thursday for kissing Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness event. The judge found Gere guilty of violating Indian laws against public obscenity.

A message to the judge and the people who filed the complaint: it’s not the year 1900 anymore. Times change and you have to accept that. Stop making our country look stupid. Look at the following picture. In what way does it make sense to burn posters of Shilpa (or even Gere) for their acts.
