We posted yesterday how the Lamke Fashion Week had a very poor start, but it seems that the new day has lifted everyone’s spirits. Nandita Mahtani presented her collection last night with many famous Bollywood celebs on hand. Karan Johar was walking the runway and Katrina Kaif, beautiful as ever, was in the crowd watching and cheering on. Here are some pics from the night:

Suchitra Krishnamoorthy has accused Preity Zinta of being a ‘man-eater’ and blames Preity for ruining her marriage with Shekhar Kapur and saying she was ultimately responsible for their divorce in February. Suchitra had this to say:

Everything I had banked my life on, was crumbling. One time, I locked myself in a room for three weeks and kept crying constantly. I even tried to end my life. I was almost at the point of no return before self preservation and maternal instincts kicked in. If Preity thinks it’s not her and that I am wrong, she should sue me. And I will be delighted. My best friends are lawyers. I am not scared.

She seems a little distant from reality. Preity even tried mending the situation by calling Suchitra and inviting her to come visit along with her daughter, Suchitra will not even interact with Preity. It seems as though Suchitra is in a paranoid state as of now, it was also reported that she was close to committing suicide but stopped because of the thought of leaving her daughter alone. Whatever is wrong with Suchitra, she needs some help and needs to stop making it a public affair.

Yesterday we posted about Akshay Kumar’s run in with a tabloid concerning his intimate relations with Shilpa Shetty, here is what has happened since yesterday:

Akshay is considering taking legal actions and suing the British tabloid, News of The World, because of the content the magazine posted about his and Shilpa’s past. The tabloid’s header was bold and mischievous and is most likely what sent Akshay off, proclaiming: I was first to bed Shilpa.

The tabloid also mentioned how Shilpa was a very innocent girl before meeting Akshay and after their involvement the tabloid reported that Akshay had this to say:

Her prim and proper nature soon disappeared in the heat of the moment. She sounded pretty crazy when it came to sex. I think she thought that she was going to marry him and she would never have slept with a man if she thought he was not serious.

Akshay seems pretty upset over what was printed, it also seems he might have said a little too much and is now suffering the consequences. Here’s what he had to say about what the tabloid printed and his further actions:

I will never talk about a lady in these terms, this is totally baseless, I have never spoken to the said newspaper and I will seek legal recourse.

Tanushree Dutta was contracted to appear and also sing in and for Babul Supriyo’s latest video but right before the approaching date she sent Babul a text message saying that she wouldn’t be able to make it. Tanushree is not a professional singer and perhaps the pressure got to her. This is what Tanushree had to say:

I have developed cold feet. However, I am yet to make up my mind. I have not yet gotten back to the people at Universal Music about my decision. Its one thing being a bathroom singer, but singing in the open is a frightening proposition.

It’s funny to see ‘professionals’ themselves show that butterflies in their stomach can really get to them, like anyone else. A girl as beautiful as Tanushree should have no worries or self-esteem issues whatsoever, but everyone is human.

The Lamke Fashion week began with dismal start. The usually proclaimed and exciting week long fashion event that takes place in Mumbai, didn’t really get the response it wanted. The first show had designer Vikram Phadnis and Bollywood actresses Minissha Lamba and Parizaad Zorabian modeling clothes and walking the runway. But designers and delegates were not thrilled with the situation at hands claiming that there weren’t many international buyers at the event nor was it a conductive atmosphere for business.Everyone hopes things will pick and that attention and business will come their way.

Shilpa Shetty will be participating in the London Marathon next month. The track is a 26.2 mile tour through the streets of London. Shilpa’s ‘good friend’ Jane Goody will also be participating in the marathon. Here’s what Shilpa had to say about the race (because she of course she has too much class to even mention anything about Janey):

I’m excited but also nervous. I keep fit with dancing and working out but this is a big test. The Pimlico girls have been helping me with training. They’ll want me to fix drains next!

In other Shilpa news: Akshay Kumar has been pursued by a British tabloid offering him 40,000 pounds to leak anything out about his past relationship with Miss Shilpa Shetty. This is all stemming from a tabloid reporting that on a flight in which the two were together, Akshay was ‘chasing’ after Shilpa. Shilpa has denied the allegations labeling them as a frabricated story. She did say that they were on a flight together, but Twinkle (Akshay’s wife) was there as well. Here’s what Akshay had to say about the situation:

I have never spoken about Shilpa and no amount of money will change that. Even if she has said something or will say anything about me in future, I will not retaliate. A gentleman never reacts.

What’s with old men and their weird stares at young women? Find some other place for your eyes. The picture comes from Ficci-Frames 2007 (some business convention) where Kareena Kapoor was a guest of honor along with Yash Chopra (who is one of the two men getting a good look at her chest).

Karisma Kapoor is making a comeback to the bright lights of Bollywood in a David Dhawan’s comedy fil. She will be starring alongside Govinda, who had this to say about the situation:

Yes, Davidji is planning to make a comedy film with Lolo and me. I am happy that Lolo has decided to make a comeback. I have been reading about Sridevi, Madhuri and Kajol making comebacks. Why should Karisma not act too? She is very talented and I think she will be great.

This will be the duo’s first movie since ‘Hero No. 1′ which was a big. Karisma and Govinda create great chemistry it will be good to see them back together.

We posted earlier about Shakira coming to Mumbai. Shakira flew to Egypt right after her concert on Satuday, here are some pictures from the show:

Ayesha Takia has bailed on Aamir Khan and the movie ‘Ghajini’, directed by A. R. Murugadoss. Ayesha had even signed her named to the movie and even set-up dates but then cited that irreconcilable differences would prevent her from taking part in the filming of the movie. She has said that:

Yes, I was supposed to do Ghajini. But I am not going ahead with it now. All I can say is that there were some irrevocable differences. Beyond that, I can not say anything. Its pointless to talk about a project I am not doing anymore.

Who knows what consequences rejecting an Aamir Khan movie will do. Usually it is Aamir himself rejecting appearances and roles but the tables have shifted. We will have to see how things work out further along the road.
